Mission & Values

Why we do what we do

Rooted in Faith:

There are many areas that set Crosswinds apart, but none is more significant than our Christian foundation.  Unfortunately, the term “faith-based” has become overused and watered down in the social service arena.  At Crosswinds, our commitment to faith is something that goes beyond our founders and by-laws.  It truly is at the core of why we do what we do—and, in fact, the reason we are successful in what we do.

What does this mean for those we serve?  It means a couple of things.  First, we’re committed to operating with integrity and according to biblical beliefs as outlined in our Core Values. You’ll see this in our staff, our programming, our financial stewardship, and our investment in kids and families. Secondly, our desire is that those we serve would come to know the life-changing hope of

Christ. This truth is interwoven in our curriculum, counseling, and individual relationships.  We understand and respect each person’s own choices related to their beliefs, so we will never force our faith on someone else.  Instead, our goal is to provide an environment that is rich with opportunities to ask questions, search the Bible, receive Godly teaching, and see examples of faith at work so that Christ may be evident to all.

Our Mission:

“Changing hearts and bringing hope to a generation at risk”.

This mission statement is based on the following two verses:

“But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these
make a man unclean. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery,
sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.”- Matthew 15:18-19

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord,“plans to prosper
you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”- Jeremiah 29:11

Our Core Values:

  • We are committed to the Great Commission and we adhere to biblical teachings
  • We consider families to be the foundation for success
  • We operate our organization as a business, with biblical stewardship principles.
